  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

3 Whole Heads of Garlic

3 t Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 T water

2T honey

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

2. Cut off the tops of the garlic heads.

3.  Place the garlic in a microwave-safe, oven-proof dish with a lid.

4. Pour the olive oil carefully over the cut ends of the garlic heads.

5. Pour the water into the bottom of the dish.  Cover.

6. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes.

Due to the nature of microwave ovens, cooking times may vary.  If your microwave is particularly strong, start with 1 minute.  The cloves will be done with the step in the microwave when they are very soft and the dish is steamy inside.

7.  Place the garlic in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes until fragrant and sweet.

8. Once the garlic is roasted, squeeze the soft cloves out of the head and serve warm or cold drizzled with honey.

Notes

The classic way to serve roasted garlic is to spread it on buttered, toasted bread topped with a little salt.

Topped with the honey it is delicious and health boosting.
