  • Total Time: 25
  • Yield: 4 cups 1x

Ingredients

Scale

4 c filtered water

2-inch piece of ginger root, unpeeled, sliced (use a 4-inch piece for a spicy tea)

1 lemon, juiced

6 sprigs of mint, or two drops of peppermint essential oil

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil in a 4-quart saucepan.
  2. While the water boils, slice the ginger and juice the lemon.
  3. Once boiling, remove from heat. Add ginger root and mint leaves to the hot water.
  4. Cover the pot and steep tea for 10 minutes or longer for a stronger, more robust tea.
  5. Strain.
  6. Add the lemon juice.
  7. Serve hot or store in the refrigerator and serve cold.
  8. If desired, add a natural sweetener such as brown rice syrup.

Notes

Boost digestion and immunity with this warming, delicious tea.

Leftovers are excellent served cold instead of plain water and drunk throughout the day.
